The main monuments of this seaside small town are: the Church of Santa Comba (14th and 15th Century), the Palace of Martelo (17th Century) the Santuary of La Virgen de Guadalupe (18th Century). It is the place of birth of important writers like Paio Gómez Chariño, Manuel Antonio, Alfonso R. Castelao and Rafael Dieste.


BOIRO:

A noisy summer holiday town. Close by is the beach of Barraña, nearly 3 km long. We must also mention the Towers of Goian, a palace built in the 16th Century.


PUEBLA DO CARAMIÑAL (MONTE CUROTA):

Puebla del Caramiñal is a quiet and welcoming small town with a wind protected beach.
Monte Curota. It is worth taking a walk up to the Mirador at the top of A Curota 498 metres high, from which you may contemplate the most impressing view of the River Arousa, inhabited by wild horses.


RIBEIRA:

Santa Eugenia de Ribeira is the third fishing port of Galicia in importance and the first of Spain in costal fishing. Near by is the beach of Coroso a 2 kilometres long beach with smooth sand and quiet waters.


CORRUBEDO:

The Nature Reserve of Corrubedo, with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean, the great dunes and lakes of Carregal and Fiján are the most spectacular of Galicia, with an interesting archeological site. Investigation Centre of bird migration (you may visit with a guide).
DOLMEN DE AXEITOS, one of the most beautiful megalitic monuments in this land.

PORTO DO SON
Tipical narrow streets, squares and houses in its ancient part. A few kilometres away by the sea is the Castro of Baroña, one of the most interesting in Galicia.

NOIA:

A town where there are lots of noble houses with arcades, some with elements from the 15th Century. The church of San Martín and the romanic church of Santa Maria a Nova, from the 14th Century with a magnificent collection of supulcral tombs with guild motives.


NEGREIRA:

The grand Palace of Cotón, with its battlemented towers and great arches and the Church of San Xulián. An interesting landscape in Ponte Maceira.
