A RECTORY IN THE LOWER MIÑO AREA
The Lower Miño region is a frontier area between the countries of Spain and Portugal whose striking beauty is little known. Wonderful places between the mountains, such as the Monte Aloia national park or the Alto de la Grova mountain range, offer magnificent views over the Vigo and Pontevedra estuaries. In sharp contrast the Atlantic coastline between A Guarda and Baiona with its steep rocky cliffs can be enjoyed.

THE OLD RECTORY
Built at the beginning of the XIX Century, in 1831, the Rectoral de Areas was home to the abbots who presided over the parish of Santa Mariña de Areas a few kilometres from Tui. Situated next to the church, more than a Century a half later, the house lost its religious nature and after a careful restoration, which has conserved its original arquitecture, was transformed into an inn.

The Rectoral de Areas dominates the parish of Santa Marina, where it is situated. Peace and calm are guaranteed in this small hamlet, where you can hear the song of the birds and the smooth murmur of the breeze. The garden and the vegetable plot invite you to read and rest.

Because of its privileged situation, the house allows the visitor interesting visits to the monumental area of Tuy to whose county it belongs, seat of a rich and cultural history.
